Why choose the white runner
Weddings take white for an obvious reason: the second it unrolls the aisle is legible as an aisle, and no new colour has been introduced that then has to get along with the florals, the drape and the room. It sits quietly beside linen and greenery, and photographs the way people already picture a wedding.
More broadly it belongs in bright rooms. Put something dark into a daylight venue, a gallery or a white-box studio and you have dropped a heavy band onto the floor; white leaves the light alone and lets the route register as texture instead. Minimal launches choose it on exactly the same logic — attention goes to the display, not the flooring.
Being pale carries one cost: it shows wear before the darker colours do, so it is worth thinking about the points where guests step on and off. Frame it with chrome to sharpen it or with gold to pull it toward the traditional. The install itself is no different from any other colour, indoors or out.
